Logging into vCloud Director
We have 2 DC locations at this time, one in Dublin, Ohio and second one in Cleveland, Ohio.
- Metro Data Center vCloud Director (Dublin, Ohio)
- Bluebridge Data Center (Cleveland, Ohio)
Note: CMH and CLE are Airport codes for Columbus and Cleveland :-)
In the Welcome Documentation you received when signing up for Cloud Propeller Services you will have a unique URL for your Organization.
It will look something like this:
Each Cloud Propeller customer has their own unique org-name identifier. Make sure you go to correct one, otherwise you won't be able to log in at all.
Once identified, head to it and you will be greeted with vCloud Director Login Screen:
Your Username and Password have also been provided to you in your Welcome Documentation, so please look it up there before continuing.
Note: if an incorrect password is entered 5 times in a row, your account will be locked out for 10 minutes, after which time it will be re-enabled.
Once you are successfully logged in, you will see your Virtual Datacenter's Home Screen:
The Home Screen shows:
- A View of Your Virtual Datacenter at a Glance
- List of vApps (Groups of Virtual Machines)
- Quick links to all other areas of vCloud Director
Note: in this particular screenshot one of our VMs (named test) shows as unavailable. This does not mean that the machine itself is unavailable, rather, that the screenshot of it's virtual screen is unavailable at the moment. There is absolutely nothing to worry as such virtual machine is 100% operational, and you can click on the screen to pull up it's virtual console, at which point the screenshot will update as well.
Now that you managed to log into vCD, let's continue with next vCD chapter - vCloud Director Basics.
